Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has set two records this, it's opening weekend. Pirates has earnd 132 million dolllars in its opening weekend. The previous record for opening weekend was 114.8 million set by "Spiderman" in May 2002.
Pirates was also the first moive to ever make more than 100 million dollars in two days. Pirates set the highest single-day gross in box office history with 55.5 million in earnings.

"Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" had previously held the record for the highest single-day earnings with 50 million dollars set in May 2005."
